Everything you need to know about choosing a puppy that’s right for your family and your home.

Choosing a puppy is a big decision:
it needs to be right for you, your family and your way of life.

At Little Paws, we breed Cavapoos, Cavachons and occasionally, Cockapoos.
From time to time, other dogs are available, including Poochons and purebred, KC Registered, Poodles and King Charles Spaniels.

Introducing our Little Paws pups…

  • Cavachon puppy

    Cavachon

Cavachon’s are friendly, loving, playful and people-loving dogs, bred by crossbreeding the purebred Cavailer King Charles Spaniel with a Bichon Frise.

From puppyhood through to adulthood, cavachons are playful and teddy-bear like. They make great family or therapy dogs and tend not to bark without good reason.

While not guaranteed to be hypo-allergenic, their low to no shedding coats can help in homes with higher levels of sensitivity. We recommend you spend plenty of time with a cavachon before considering a purchase to test whether there is a reaction.

Typcially cavachons have a medium wavy coat and come in a range of colours, based on the appearance of the parent dogs. These include:

    • Blenheim (white with apricot patches)

    • Tri-colour (black, white and tan, or black and white, or ruby (dark apricot with little or no white)

  • Cavapoo

Eager to please, affectionate, honest and handsome, Cavapoos love to snuggle up with their owners just as much as they love to play.

Bred with a combination of Poodle and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - both sporting dogs in history - they are bright dogs with active minds.

Known for their trainability and easy going natures, Cavapoos generally make great family dogs and love being around people.

Bear in mind, Cavapoos are very human- centred and struggle with separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. Their beautiful coats can be high maintenance too - so remember to calculate the cost of regular grooming when considering your budget for a pet.

Cavapoos can be bread with either a Miniature or Toy Poodle - and each offers slightly different traits. Families with very young children may find a Toy Poodle a better fit.

Cavapoos come in a range of colours, including:

    • Apricot (light, medium or dark)

    • Gold or cream

    • Black

    • Black and white

    • Ruby

    • Blenheim

    • Tricolour (black and white with tan markings)

    • Black and tan

  • Cockapoo

The Cockapoo is a cross between a Spaniel and a Poodle. Often used as assistance or therapy dogs, they are willing learners - active and interested in everything.

Cockapoos make great pets for families with older children.
